Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Our service fetches videos from your video service (i.e. Ring) which is linked to a property, camera and reservation for your property. Upon receipt of the video, we utilize facial recognition to count the number of unique guests. We continuously monitor your property and alert you if the number of guests exceeds your threshold per property.

How accurate is the detection?

While no service is 100% accurate due to variations of the quality of the video, lighting, camera position, etc., our service offers a high accuracy of person detection. You can delete photos that are duplicates of an existing guest or if the photo is not a guest. Our goal is to avoid having you constantly monitor your cameras to determine if guests are exceeding the maximum occupancy.

What booking channels do you support?

We currently support Direct bookings, AirBnb, HomeAway, and VRBO. If you would like recommend an additional channel, please let us know.

What video services do you support?

We currently support Ring doorbell (recommended) and cameras that record when motion is detected. All hardware sold separately.

What should I do if I receive a occupancy violation notification?

Open the app and look at the dashboard. The property with the violation will be highlighted in red and indicates the number of guests that were detected. Click view photos to confirm that guest photos and confirm if they did violate the maximum occupancy. If so, contact the guests right away to rectify the situation based on your house rules.

Does the app support multiple properties?

Yes, and each property can have multiple cameras. We charge by number of cameras, not properties.

Does the app support multiple users?

Yes, the owner or admin role can manage users under the settings tab. The viewer role will have access but cannot make any changes to your properties, cameras, or calendars. All users will receive alerts for occupancy violations for the properties they are allowed to see.

How do you charge?

We strive to keep to our pricing simple and fair. We charge $0.25 per video regardless of the number of properties or cameras. You are invoiced monthly based on prior month's usage. Typically, a high occupancy month tends to produce about 300 videos, but of course this can vary depending on guest's activity.

How do I get the iCal URL?

Calendar exporting gives our App access to your reservation dates so we can associate occupancy violations to the reservation. The following steps must be completed from a desktop and not from the AirBnb or HomeAway app.

AirBnb

  1. On airbnb.com (only available on desktop), go to Calendar and select a listing
  2. Go to the side panel and click Availability
  3. Scroll to Connect calendars
  4. Click Connect to another website
  5. Copy and paste the Airbnb calendar link and email it to yourself

HomeAway/VRBO

  1. On homeaway.com (only available on desktop), select your Property and select Calendar Reservations
  2. Click Import/Export in your calendar view and select Export Calendar
  3. Copy and paste the HomeAway calendar link and email it to yourself

You would need to email yourself the URL and then from your phone, retrieve the email and copy and paste the URL into our App.
